May has arrived

May is here! One of the loveliest months of the year has begun. We have a long ways to go to see a normal May! By this time last year we had cool weather plants in the raised beds. This is what they look like today:
We are not going to plant them soon! There is also a pile of snow beside the garage:
The tulips have poked their leaves out, but no blossoms yet:
And in the perennial garden the iris are sending up sprouts:
Perhaps the next time we update the blog we will at least have buds on the trees and green grass. The grass is coming very slowly:
Yesterday we took a break from the County and went to Bangor where Gary picked up his painting of the museum. He had it matted and framed there, and it looks really nice:
He sent the painting of the horses away to be matted and framed this month.
