The Merritt Island National Wildlife Preserve hosted the Coles today. We enjoyed a beautiful place, hiked a little, and drove through the preserve observing nature. We found many varieties of birds. The ducks from Portage Lake must be spending their winter here, as hundreds of them were seen. Several alligators were seen sunning themselves along the waterways. The most amazing find was an armadillo we spotted near the road. Gary followed him to the woods and took his picture. It was truly a wonderful day!
