Volusia County and Blue Springs State Park
On the coldest morning of the year in this area we ventured north to Edgewater and met up with Leslie Cole. She very graciously served as our chauffeur and tour guide. We visited the Volusia County fairgrounds for a huge farmer's market and flea market. We were treated to a wonderful lunch at Olive Garden where we caught up on family news. We toured the St. Johns River area and spent most of the afternoon at Blue Springs State Park in Orange City. We hiked the boardwalk that extends throughout the park, a beautiful spot in the state of Florida. We saw storks, many varieties of fish, and many of the more than 200 manatees that winter in this park. The picture above shows a manatee below the water. It was a wonderful place to visit and it was great to get together again with Les.
